About me

My name is Laura Lazzaretto, I was born and grew up in a small village in the countryside, not far from Venice in the northeast of Italy. Since November 2020 I moved to my partner Pieter Vivijs (All Zealous), with whom I share the passion for retrievers. We live in the countryside in the north-east of Belgium, half an hour from Brussels.

I started breeding Golden Retrievers in 1994, when I bought my first show golden bitch. I won a lot of awards with her in the ring and in agility.  Soon enough I discovered working tests and field trials and I ended up dedicating most of my time to this sport.

At the moment I’m breeding under the kennel affix THINK TWICE.

The first dogs from my breeding lines were exclusively show dogs. Some of them are Show Champions and International Show Champions but all my dogs have been extensively run in working tests and trials during the years.

At the moment most of my dogs are working bred.

I’ve made up one  Italian Championship Winner, one Vice Italian Championship Winner, one Vice ICC Winner, three International Ft Ch, four Italian Ft Ch, several Show Ch, two Club Ch, and several Ft Winners and Working Test Winners.

Perhaps my most important and favourite dog was WIGGLIN’ JIGGLIN’ CUPCAKES, or just “Bart” for me (Int FT Ch, Int Sh Ch, It FT Ch,It Sh Ch, Dual Ch, Soc Ch, Top Retriever, Nur Ch, Aust Ch). He was a “once in a lifetime dog”!! He is the first and only show Golden in the history of the breed who has won the title of International Dual Champion (International  Working Champion and International Show Champion).

In 2008, 2009 and 2011 I was a member of the official team who represented Italy at the IWT (International Working Test) and in 2008 I participated with the Italian team at the CLA Game Fair in England. In 2012 and 2013 I was among the four Italian dogs present at the Skinner's World Cup Retriever Event at Highclere, England. In 2014 my dog Int FT Ch & It FT Ch THE ROAD RUNNER was selected as best dog of the previous trail season to represent Italy at the ICC (Individual Challenge Cup for Retrievers), and we gained a second place, winning  the title of Vice European Winner in 2014.

In 2018 with my Reema, Int FT Ch & It Ft Ch THINK TWICE GO GET IT, after a fantastic season, which sees her being the best field trial dog in Italy for the 2017/2018 trialling season, we won the Italian Championship, first time ever for a Golden Retriever, after the best placement for the breed thanks to Diesel, uncle of Reema, some years earlier, becoming second. Thanks to these results, I was very proud to represent my country at the EC (European Championship) in Denmark, with my beloved Reema. The second time for me with a dog bred, trained and handled by me.

I have bred my partner’s Golden bitch IntFtCh BFtCh THINK TWICE UH LA LA LA, the first retriever bred in Italy to win 2 field trials in the United Kingdom and to qualify for the IGL Retriever Championship in 2018. In the same season she became International and Belgian Field Trial Champion at the age of 2,5 years and winning the Belgian Retriever Championship for two years in a row, in 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, she became second in the EC (European Championship) held in Spain in 2019.

I have also bred the first Golden Retriever ever bred in the Continent to became GB FT Champion. THINK TWICE ZERO TO HERO, in his first season at the age of 2,5 years, next to several awards, won a 2 day open any variety trial and a 1 day breed stake, finishing with a DOM at the 2019 IGL Retriever Championship.

After many years of breeding and running my dogs in Italy and abroad, at the highest level, I recently passed my finale exam to become an FCI field trial judge, path started in autumn 2012, and finished in 2018. Judging  gives me the opportunity to appreciate the work of the retrievers as gundogs and their amazing natural abilities.

My breeding goal is to breed dogs which comply with the standard both in their looks but also in their temperament, which is very important to me as this makes such dogs good in competitions but also great companions at home and when picking up.

I strongly believe in the "Dual Purpose Golden", but it takes time, sacrifice and dedication. This is why I own few dogs, each of them gives me so much at shows, trials and working tests.

I wish for the future, their offspring can inherit their working abilities and natural qualities.

And now have a nice time through their stories!
